Omnifête – It’s Not Your Grandmother’s Crafts Fair!

Artisans, Artists, Authors, and Vendors Converge in Old World Setting to Kick Off Spooky Season

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — Eclectic arts nonprofit Whimsicalitea is back with another arts-and-crafts event, this time with a Witch Craft fair featuring delights of the season.

Hosted in Old World Village, outside of Pamela’s Tea Room (unit #19), guests are invited to meander the outdoor tables, all hosted by vendors purveying wares with a spooky theme, while enjoying live acoustic bluegrass music performed by multi-talented musicians from throughout Southern California. Shoppers can look forward to seasonal gifts, fabric creations, candles, teas and tea wares, handmade cards, custom-created purses, original mixed-media art, jewelry, baked goods, garden décor, books, journals, notepads, and more.

Event activities include Broom Driver's License certification, book readings and signings by authors, craft demonstrations, and Anytime Tea Service at Pamela's Tea.

Vendor Merilou Labio Benson who makes custom-created cards and journals states, “Omnifête has a special place in my heart. It gave me the push to move my business forward. Everyone was helpful and encouraging. There was a variety of items to shop for, and I'm excited to see what treasures there will be this year.”

The event is sponsored by DJ Piper, Paris In A Cup, Omnimmersive Learning Experiences, Whimsicalitea, and The Academy of Omniosophical Arts & Sciences. Whimsicalitea was founded in 2017 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit to nurture creativity and inspire artistic expression with an emphasis on lifelong learning and connection. We achieve this through numerous off-beat do-gooder programs, by supporting creative individuals, and working vigorously to cultivate the genteel arts.

Visit Omnifete.org for details and Omnifête afternoon tea info. Admission and parking in the venue’s two spacious lots are free.

Press Release — Unusual arts nonprofit engages in offbeat do-goodery

Quirky Nonprofit Makes Philanthropy Irresistible

A Silly Approach Makes for Serious Success

MAY 28, 2024

Fairy Godmother Certification (mentor training), Fabled Creature & Endangered Monster Rescue (animal aid), Biblioperatives (covert library groupies supporters). These are the kinds of benevolent programs offered by Whimsicalitea, a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit run by the Academy of Omniosophical Arts & Sciences. The arts organization is enriching lives through innovative activities designed to nurture creativity and inspire artistic expression with an emphasis on lifelong learning and connection.

The philanthropy’s flagship program is Shared Treasure Hunt, a pirate-themed activity whereby kids follow a treasure map to put together back-to-school backpacks for their less fortunate peers.

Founding Director Joy Johnston describes the eccentric group’s current status this way:

“Our focus in 2024 is getting kids excited about books through our Reading Revolution program. Created for parents with children ages 4-17, the comprehensive series offers an interactive and immersive approach to reading and learning. Additionally, along with our parent company, over the last two years we have given more than $80K in discreet financial assistance to creative individuals to help them prosper in their endeavors. We look forward to doing much more.”

Since January of this year, Whimsicalitea has been hosting a thriving weekly Kids Club at a family success center in New Jersey. Online, the organization’s new Whimbassadors Play & Plunder program enables supporters to do daily deeds on behalf of the charity while earning rewards, all by means of a playful advent calendar.
